For over two decades the solo guitar music of Rick Foster has lifted hearts in churches across America. Rick's concerts feature primarily instrumental guitar. He is often joined by daughters Jody and Tobi on vocals, flute, and piano. The music includes spirituals and gospel favorites, sacred classical works, timeless hymns and contemporary Christian music.
Rick's video, Precious Memories 1981-2002 gives an overview of selections from his concerts during that time period. Many of the comments which follow were given in response to the concerts represented on this video.
| 2005 Concert Tour Concerts presented from July 3 through December 3, 2005, included Rick and his daughter, Jody, who joined him with vocals, flute, and other instruments. |

These comments were given in response to Rick's 2001 concert program which included his daughter, Tobi, and Ben and Jamie Kruse.
"Rick, your music, as always, was truly inspiring. Jamie has an incredibly beautiful voice that really complements the guitar, and I appreciated your song selection. Ben's testimony was from the heart, and I know that our members were blessed by it. Thanks to all of you for honoring God with the talents that He has given to you.
"The feedback from our members has been really positive. I know they really appreciated your music!
Greg Phillips, Pastor, Medford, OR
"It was such a privilege to have you and your daughter and Ben and Jamie Kruse in concert at our school in March. The music had such a deep spiritual tone and was well received by our crowd.
"Jamie's singing was such a blessing to young and old alike. The testimony from Ben helped young people think of what their choices should be. The guitar playing was awesome and the only comment I might make, play more next time. We really enjoyed it.
"I have heard the comment that we should invite you back. Thank you for coming and inspiring us."
Pat Milligan, Pastor, Hood River, OR
"I'd like to express to you my gratitude for your ministry in our church this past weekend. I know that the Spirit used you to minister to many in our congregation; I heard numerous positive comments (and no negative comments) regarding your ministry!
"Your gentle, peaceful, spiritually restful music quieted my troubled heart, and allowed peace to reign therein once again. I came away uplifted, as though a fresh breath of God had been blown into my spirit. I needed exactly what you all provided this weekend.
"Thank you for being obedient to the Spirit's moving, and for using the gifts He has given you for His glory. He is accomplishing His kingdom purposes through you, so be encouraged!"
Cliff Purcell, Pastor, Connell, WA
"I would like to express my appreciation for the inspirational concert presented at our church recently which had such an excellent balance and appropriateness in music and a program that features such variety and interest. I know that young and old alike were blessed.
"Keep up the good work and keep Christ at the center of the program, like you did at our concert."
Steve Behrmann, Pastor, Canyonville, OR
These comments were given in response to Rick's solo guitar concert in which he shared thoughts on living the Christian life and gave testimonies on being good stewards of our health. They were received during concert tours from 1983-2000.
"Thanks so much for giving us a concert showing
us how a guitar should really be played. Although we were full to overflowing,
there was such a hush on the congregation that you could hear a pin drop.
I have never heard a classical guitar played so beautifully before.
"The variety from Bach and hymns to children's songs and spirituals
fed everyone.
"I especially appreciated the warmth and Christian fellowship you
brought with a touch of humor and a deep spiritual commitment."
G.R., Pastor, Nashville, TN
"We remember your concert with us as a time of
sweet fellowship in the Lord. Teenagers and senior adults alike found your
testimony and music style to be both gracious, and of the highest caliber.
"I think you have a rare and remarkable combination of classical guitar
technique and gospel witness which is refreshing and exciting."
W.S., Pastor, Camarillo, CA
"We really enjoyed your visit to Hickory Hills
Baptist Church. Your spirit and your musical gifts are so delightfully
wedded. Rick, your playing was utterly astounding. We would love to have
you and the family back at Hickory Hills at any opportunity."
F.R., Music Minister, Nashville, TN
"As a fellow classical guitarist, I know just
enough to recognize your unique mastery of the instrument. But as a minister
I appreciated the fact that you know the difference between a guitar performance
and a worship service. Under your leadership, Sunday was a worship service
in the very best sense of the word.
"It is evident that you are a man of deep personal faith, and this
reality permeates every note of your music and message. We were greatly
blessed!"
D.S., Pastor, Aloha, OR
"The Parkside family wants to thank you for your
recent concert. Your warmth and sensitivity to the Gospel of Jesus Christ
as a classical guitarist was received with appreciation and joy. The calming
presentation of your music, mixed with anecdotes from your personal life's
experiences, also gave a distinctive testimony to the Lordship of Christ.
"We especially enjoyed your daughters' songs and the way in which
their participation helped the children to be involved. Know of our church's
continued prayers for your family and ministry."
D.H., Pastor, Denison, TX
"It was our privilege to enjoy the guitar artistry
of Rick Foster during a major church event here at First Assembly. His
talent is unquestionable, his presentation refreshing and his spirit cooperative
and Christlike.
"I can recommend Rick as a Christian artist without reservation. He
will be a welcome guest and a blessing to your congregation."
L.S., Pastor, Albany, OR
"We found Rick's ministry to be extremely effective
and worthwhile. As a classically trained soloist and conductor, I observed
Rick's musicianship to be nothing short of impeccable. At the same time,
his music is by no means inaccessible to the untrained musician.
"Rick Foster's manner is professional and his commitment to Christ
is evident in all he says and does. He has a profound peace in Christ and
a servant's heart, and these attitudes are truly apparent as he performs.
Our concert experience with Rick was one of quiet inspiration and Christian
love, a welcome respite from the hectic world around us."
B.K.M., Director of Music, Santa Maria, CA
"By the time Rick started there was standing room
only and the cable network was there filming. Rick was absolutely fabulous
playing the lovely gospel tunes from his first album all the way to his
most recent. His kids sang a Capella and his youngest recited a beautiful
poem. He also retuned his guitar and played 'Close to Heaven' by Pepino
D'Agostino, with an alternate tuning. It was marvelous. 'Joshua Fit the
Battle of Jericho' was top notch. He played one lovely song after another."
A.C., Magnolia Guitar Society, Clinton, MS
