Precious Memories

Over the past 20 years we've received many requests from guitarists for a sacred performance video. In response to these requests, Precious Memories 1981-2002 gives viewers a look into the concert years of Rick Foster's career, as well as intimate "at home" footage of several pieces not featured on his albums. Also included are rare performances by two of the world's foremost sacred guitarists — Jonathan Burchfield and Ray Cummins.
This collection offers an overview of the history of sacred guitar music as it captures the spirit of Rick's concerts through his personal testimony, performances with daughters Jody and Tobi, and solo close ups of his favorite and most requested tunes. We consider this to be the best available video collection of sacred music for the guitar.

We have a limited number of videos which include Christopher Parkening performing 3 pieces (Glorious Things of Thee Are Spoken, All Creatures of Our God and King, and Fairest Lord Jesus). These tapes are being sold in a white sleeve and were produced as pre-release copies. The Parkening performances have been replaced by The Burchfield Brothers in the finished video. 81 minutes.

Liner notes by John Schroeter, John August Music, and founder of Fingerstyle Guitar magazine.

Rick Foster's pioneering work in gospel guitar has, without question, reached far and wide, delighting audiences and players alike. From Chet Atkins to Christopher Parkening, Foster's considerable influence has found its mark in significant places. His new video, Precious Memories 1981-2002, documents his career in performances, as well as in glimpses of the family life that figures so prominently in his music. It's a veritable time capsule, taking the viewer from '70's gospel television programs, to church stages across America, to the casual atmosphere of the Foster's country home in Oregon. Foster shares the stage, as well, with dedicated segments showcasing the performances of other guitarists, whose work brings to light the myriad ways the genre has expanded. So sit back, relax, and enjoy a bit of time travel as you are entertained by one of the guitar world's most important artists.
